My Top Reads of 2018

This is always a hard post for me to write because I read so many books and love so many books. How do I pick favorites?!!?

I've been going through my Goodreads read list for the year and trying to decide which were the "top reads" for me. I'm a big "Feelings" person, and I base my reviews mostly on how the book made me feel- not the actual writing, etc. I'm going to attempt to break this down into genres... or something. If you click on the titles it will take you to my review on Goodreads. Here goes!

Favorite Memoir:

Unshattered: Overcoming Tragedy and Choosing a Beautiful Life by Carol J. Decker

Tough As They Come by SSG Travis Mills

Favorite Historical Fiction Romance:

The Monster of Montvale Hall by Nadine Millard

Favorite Adult Fiction:

The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah

Favorite from the Teen Section:

Far from the Tree by Robin Benway

Favorite Children's Fiction:

The War that Saved my Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

Favorite book I read aloud with my daughter:

Women in Sports by Rachel Ignotofsky

Favorite World War 2 (I have a Goodreads shelf dedicated to this time era.):

We Will Not Be Silent by Russell Freedman

Favorite Surprise (a book I wasn't sure about when I started it):

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
